Ciutadella (the old capital)
Well worth a visit either day or night and easily accessible by car, the regular bus services or you can take a stroll there along the promenade (approx 15-20 minutes). This was the island’s capital in Roman times and is full of historic grandeur and architectural splendour, with narrow cobbled streets lined with trendy shops, designer boutiques and tempting waterside bars and restaurants overlooking the stylist marina.
Mahon
Lovely shops in the centre of the resort, beautiful little place with a fantastic harbour offering a variety of boat trips.
Fornells
Very picturesque with a harbour and lots of boating activity. There’s some lovely fish restaurants here, a small play area and a horse and cart to take you around. Look out for the signs as you approach Fornells as your children may enjoy a trip to the donkey sanctuary.
Cala Galdana (Santa Galdana)
This has one of the best beaches on the island, especially for children, and is about a 20 minute drive from Cala n’Blanes heading towards Mahon. In a sheltered bay, the water is shallow and there’s all kinds of water sports – motor boats, canoes, peddloes, etc. The Menorcan horse shows are here too - just outside the resort. Well worth a visit and free for children.
Cap D' Artrux
Santandria beach is very picturesque with nice restaurants and bars. Very suitable for small children. About a 10 minute drive from the villa.
Your resort
We have the main beach on the roundabout - referred to as the pirates' beach as well as some smaller beaches in the resort. There are two beautiful coves within walking distance of the villa, one just below the large hotel on the tip of the resort, where the children can fish or snorkel. Its also good for sun bathing.
Take a trip to the 'La Trot' horse racing on a Sunday evening - very traditional but an enjoyable evening out. Starts at 1800 every Sunday evening. Walkable from the villa. Look out for the signs in the resort.
