Pamporovo offers extremely good value for money and is probably one of the best places in the world to learn to ski. It is particularly suitable for beginners and children and is also one of the cheapest places, with a cost of living of around a third of other European ski resorts. It has a number of first-class ski schools with English speaking instructors.
It has a unique claim to fame – this bright, modern ski resort is the sunniest mountain resort in Europe. It boasts no less than 270 sunny days a year on average, and in the winter provides an ideal combination – plenty of snow (average snow depth of 140 – 150cm) and plenty of sparkling sunshine to show off the resort at its best. Being an all year round holiday resort, summer temperatures range from 20 - 30c.
Nestled in the heart of the Rhodope Mountains, set within a beautiful Nature Reserve, this beautiful region is said to have once been the home of Orpheus. Set amongst magnificent pine forests, it’s tailor-made for skiing, having well designed ski runs for beginners to advanced skiers as well as cross country skiing and snowboarding. Pamporovo has just benefited from the opening (2011) of a brand new state of the art ski lift beng the only one of its kind on the Balkan Peninsula and ranked second in Europe. This lift has enabled the ski season to be extended by using the wonderful conditions of ski tracks on the northern slopes and now takes the total length of ski tracks in Pamprovo to 25km!
In the resort itself, Pamporovo offers a whole host of contemporary bars, restaurants, shops and other facilities catering for the every need of the tourist. Most of them offer free transport and will come to Forest Nook to collect you and return you when you are ready to leave. Nearby is the very picturesque town of Smolyan, which again has a whole array of restaurants, trendy bars, shops, boutiques and leisure facilities catering for everyone.
SUMMER. During the summer months we can offer fantastic activies such as mountain biking, white water rafting, nature and wildlife tours, hiking (eco trails), bird watching, off road driving, fishing and hunting, outdoor paintball, alpine climbing, quad bikes, horse riding - there is literally something for everyone. We can cater for small parties or large groups of people wanting a more structured holiday. We can arrange anything you want -from private individuals to schools/colleagues, etc.
The border with Greece is now open, so within a couple of hours you can drive from Pamporovo through to Greece, if you would like to make your holiday a 'two-centre' adventure. We also have daily excursions to Devin - hot mineral springs, Yagodinska Cave, Xanthi (Greece), Plovdiv and Bachkovo monastery, Shiroka Luka, Gela and Perelik, Perperikon and Thracian archaeological sites and many more.
