The best of ski and summer comes together for a fraction of the cost!

Pamporovo offers extremely good value for money and is probably one of the best places in the world to learn to ski. Pamporovo ski resort is spread across the beautiful Snezhanka Mountain.  It is particularly ideal for beginners and children yet has enough challenging runs to keep the advanced skier happy for more than a few days. Complete beginners will spend the first couple of days on the nursery slopes, learning the basics, but will very quickly progress and will make their way up the mountain.  Once the basics are mastered, the long green run goes from the tower at the top all the way back down, meaning that all of the Snezhanka peak is accessible.  The runs to Stoikite are the next challenge but a gentle blue and red give you a steady progression in comfort. Snow canons are in abudance meaning that ski-ing is pretty much guaranteed during the whole season.  We can arrange ski equipment, lift passes and tuition for you at a fraction of the cost of other ski resorts - Pamporovo has a cost of living of around a third of other European ski resorts.  There are excellent ski schools, with English speaking instructors, reasonably priced restaurants.

Set amongst magnificent pine forests, Pamporovo has a unique claim to fame – this bright, modern ski resort is the sunniest and one of the most popular mountain resorts in Europe.  It boasts no less than 270 sunny days a year on average, and in the winter provides an ideal combination – plenty of snow (average snow depth of 140 – 150cm) and plenty of sparkling sunshine to show off the resort at its best.  Being an all year round holiday resort, summer temperatures range from 20 - 30c. The area has no history of major avalanches or violet changes in the weather making it a safe and relaxing place for ski, snowboard, cross country, ski or snow hike.  There are 13 ski lifts in the resort (6 chair lifts and 7 tows) which serve the 18 ski slopes. It also has a state of the art ski lift, being the only one of its kind on the Balkan Peninsula and ranked second in Europe.  This lift has enabled the ski season to be extended by using the wonderful conditions of ski tracks on the northern slopes and now takes the total length of ski tracks to 25km!

Nestled in the heart of the Rhodope Mountains, set within a beautiful Nature Reserve, this beautiful region is said to have once been the home of Orpheus.

In the resort itself, Pamporovo offers a whole host of contemporary bars, restaurants, shops and other facilities catering for the every need of the tourist.  Most of them offer free transport and will come to the village to collect you and return you when you are ready to leave.  Nearby is the very picturesque town of Smolyan, very cosmopolitan with a whole array of restaurants, trendy bars, shops, boutiques and leisure facilities to cater for everyone.

SUMMER.  During the summer months the beautiful countryside surrounding the Pamporovo area is certainly worth a visit.  After the snow white mountains of the Bulgarian winter, the lush green of the mountains and pine trees provide a startling and beautiful contrast.  The snow covered pistes are replaced by spring flowers on lush green grass, ski-doos and sledges are replaced by horses, 4x4 vehicles and mountain bikes circuits.  There are many summer activities on offer including mountain biking, horse riding, fishing, cycling, hunting, alpine climbing, swimming, bowling, outdoor paintballing, quad biking, white water rafting, nature walks, boating, visiting monasteries, churches, bird watching, visiting spa centres, barbecues, zip wires, caving, and jeep safari - there is literally something for everyone.  You will see photographs of the attractions you can visit on the site.  Guests also make this a two-centre holiday as within a 60-90 minute drive you can enjoy the luxury of a beach holiday with the beautiful Greek beaches that are on offer.  Photographs are also shown on the site.

We can cater for small parties or large groups of people wanting a more structured holiday.  We can arrange anything you want -from private individuals to schools/colleagues, etc.  A new mountain bike park opened in 2012.  Mountain bikers are able to cycle down some of the prepared ski runs. The runs also include a number of jumps and challenges.  Approx cost is around 20 Bulgarian Lev per day.

There is a lovely trout pool on the right hand side of the road just before the Fish Restaurant in Smolyan.  You can catch your lunch and have it cooked in front of you.  The owners are also prepared to send a free car to Pamporovo village villas for anyone wanting to visit them.

It's simple to enjoy daily excursions to Devin - hot mineral springs, Yagodinska Cave, Xanthi (Greece), Plovdiv and Bachkovo monastery, Shiroka Luka, Gela and Perelik, Perperikon and Thracian archaeological sites and many more.  Just ask for details before you travel or when you arrive.

Enjoy breathtaking walks or hikes amongst some of the most beautiful scenery Bulgaria has to offer.
